One of Sweden 's largest long-distance canoe race

On September 6, it is time for the nineteenth edition of the Göta Kanal-race. Start and finish are located in Vassbacken, except for sea kayak-classes starting in Karlsborg. If your notification is later than 15:00 hours at 5/9 2009 you will have to pay twice the starting fee.   Prizes All who have completed the race will get the special Gota Canal-race medal. Those who have completed 15, 10 or 5 years receive a special plaque. The touring classes have raffled prizes. All participants in the race take part in the lottery of two canoes: an Inca C2, aluminium canoe donated by Lars-Göran Linder and a plastic kayak, donated by Trapper canoe. Contest Rules Life jacket is compulsory for all except competitors Men 22 and Women 22. Your participation is at your own risk!  You can also turn to the Swedish canoe federation’s regulation.
